We are surrounded by medicinal plants wherever we go.
Native and non-native.

 

We will introduce the main medicinal plants found in western Washington including info on optimum timing of harvest, collecting techniques, tools, processing and drying. Sustainable wildcrafting concerns and guidelines will be addressed.

Michael Pilarski of Friends of the Trees Society has been commercially wildcrafting medicinal plants for 22 years in Washington State, north Idaho and Northwest Montana.  He farms a diversity of medicinal and food plants in complex, agroforestry systems and is the author of “Ethnobotany and Ethnoecology Resource Guide” and “Growing & Wildcrafting Medicinal Plants in the Pacific Northwest”.
