Saturday Evening Tasting Herbal Drinks, Beverages and Treats

Join us Saturday evening for a tasting of some of the Northwest’s finest herbal drinks and beverages!

The MHG&MC Tasting will feature a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic herbal drinks. There will be herbal treats to go with the beverage tasting.  In most cases the producers will be on hand to introduce their product and answer questions. There will be light background music featuring local musicians. The Trade Show will be in full progress and the evening theme is a Growers & Buyers Meet-up. $20 fee to join the tasting.

Non-alcoholic Beverages, kombucha (oops 2% alcohol naturally), jun, shrubs, sodas.

Alcoholic Beverages: Herbal liqueurs, absinthe, spirits, wines, beers, cordials, bitters, elixirs.

There is a long history of using herbs in alcoholic beverages and as in so many other things there is a revival going on in the Pacific Northwest. A number of brewers and distillers are leading the charge and we are inviting them to the conference. Some well-known European herbal liqueurs include, Chartreuse, St Germaine, Compari, Jagermeister, Strega, Zabrowka, Who are the regional counterparts?

Artisan, high-quality, herb production is needed for all of these products. This is a small but specialty market in which quality is of the essence.

We expect that 10 or more producer’s wares will be featured. Perhaps half alcoholic and half non-alcoholic. We are looking into herbal mixed drinks.
